I was riding with my Bournemouth club on Suday and was the only person sans helmet (as usual). At the end I was chatting to this gent of about 40 who told me he's been cycling since he was 15 and never wore a helmet before having kids. The only reason he wears one now is as a role-model to his children who he wants to wear helmets (while they're young at least).
On anothetr point I realised (especially with thoes boys) that they all get very helmet serious during the summer months, but I can't help noticing that during the winter the Rapha winter hats are out without helmet. The worst time NOT to have a helmet as your so much more lkely to come off.
