Now I knew that skidding was fun (I try to avoid it, preferring £4 on brake blocks every 6 months to £10 a month on new tyres), but a crotch wear issue?! That's funny. Probably justifies some decent tough/hard-wearing shorts.

The other day when I was goofing around with a friend I ripped a small, maybe 2-3 inch hole in the crotch of my jeans. We had a good laugh. Goofed around some more. .
Try removing the jeans completely when having sex.

I never ripped any jeans or shorts on one skid, but having posted here for a remedy to wearing out the seat / and / or gusset of my jeans from riding I've discovered a solution. Upon purchasing a new pair, I line the posterior with heavy duty masking tape - the threaded unrippable type. I have a pair that look like a mosquito net that I have worn for about eight months and they have not failed. I do wonder what non-cyclists must think of my thread bare rear though.

uniqlo are quite hit & miss with their jeans. Not all of the skinny ones are that stretchy. If you insist on jeans, I think you can't go wrong with H&M skinnies (which do stretch, at least atm) for £14.99 a pair.

just joshing i buy from these places aswell
The other day when I was goofing around with a friend I ripped a small, maybe 2-3 inch hole in the crotch of my jeans. We had a good laugh. Goofed around some more. And I went home and fixed it.
It happened again the next day. So I patched it up with some spare denim.
Then I ripped a hole in the patch. At this point the pants are goners.
Today, after a week and a few days of tear-free skids, it happened yet again. This time in my favorite pair of shorts.
I'm pretty sure it happened cause I didn't settle down with the stem in the right place against my hip when I started to skid. I think it's kind of funny.
