the dude obviously knows nothing about riding position. His saddle is wayy to high up making him stretch his toes (should'nt do that) and the bars are too close with that short stem for him.

maybe he rides mostly on the drops when he gets going?

Looks to me like he's just off the saddle. I doubt he's spent that much on a bike without knowing that his toes should need to turn down whilst pedaling. Also, he's running brakeless so I'd say he's unlikely to be a novice.

Oh... it's a Rasputin Wodka Vorks frame... I guess that explains the crazy handlebar set-up... leanin' over like that the wind doesn't blow your vomit back on to you at speed.

Is this the latest version of this bike? I've seen a few different versions. Sadly they were never for sale. More of an experiment. The gears are all contained in that black case in the middle. Its a pretty cool idea and could work really well. Overkill on anything that doesn't go offroad though.

i know fuck all about downhill bikes. what exactly is the point in having such a complicated gearbox? i get that it gives more clearance, but does it really need to be that complicated. just looks really heavy to me. i guess heavy is good for going hills.

Apparently the band were apart for a couple of months before their big break and got back together to find that the two with beards had grown the same thing completely independently of one another.. The story goes that it wasn't planned at all..

I am old enough to remember those. CW Z frame from early 80's, CW made some great stuff.

gearboxes are very efficent and require little servicing
besides the overhall every now and again
thats why there more used
as derailleur gears get hit by things and etc
