Thanks Tom, loving your Pug. The frame looks almost identical to the one I had back in the day. Yours is in much better nick than mine was though! I remember once using the back of a lorry as makeshift brakes in the wet, had straight bladed forks for the rest of the day, but soon foxed with a vice and a big hamnmer!
Glad to hear you can get by with the original chainset, will make it a fair bit cheaper and more straight forward as a newbie.
One last Q, In terms of your rear cassette what did you need to buy to sort that ? Is it SS not Fixed ? Might be worth considering for "phase 1"
