i think you did the best you could, which is get as fucking far from people like that as possible.
i wouldn't worry that you were being targeted personally, i'm sure they were just looking for something/one to do. (if you were personally targeted, there's no point thinking about that either as you won't leave the house).
I'd just try to forget about it and if you see them about make sure you get their plates in case anything happens in the future.
sounds scary though, don't know what i'd do.
