Seriously man, you took my totally useless taco'd wheel and made it so rideable, I rode full speed back home without a fuss once. Do you also turn water into wine? or beer even? If you could you would become really popular with the forum. I think you spent over two hours trying to true that wheel. That will definitely go down in good deed history.
"How to come to drinks and win popularity" By MOTH.
Thanks again. A good end to a shitty start. I still have to buy a new rim though :(

Glad to make my first Wests expedition - me and Nick had a great ride over from east and back along the river - looks good at night! Nice to see some familiar faces and love the pub spot right on the river. Sorry to see results of Elguapo's altercation with a car, but glad to read it got fixed enough to get home. Will definitely be back!

Eeek... why were you playing near trucks? Did you run into it? Did it run into you? Anything else damaged?

I'd also like to say thanks for the rum & coke. Perhaps it didn't show, but I was still a little shaken having been doored. The rum was trés helpful.
Good times.

What's going on? How many people crashed last night? All BEFORE drinks too???
-
• #5441
Holy crap, Velo, I had no idea you'd been doored! Yeah, dangerous night out for the Westies crowd it sounds like. I picked a hell of a night to go solo on the way over...and yet made it safe and sound!

I solve my problems and I see the light
We gotta plug and think, we gotta feed it right
There ain't no danger we can go to far
We start believing now that we can be who we areGrease is the word
They think our love is just a growing pain
Why don't they understand, It's just a crying shame
Their lips are lying only real is real
We start to find right now we got to be what we feelGrease is the word
Grease is the word, is the word that you heard
It's got groove it's got meaning
Grease is the time, is the place is the motion
Grease is the way we are feelingWe take the pressure and we throw away
Conventionality belongs to yesterday
There is a chance that we can make it so far
We start believing now that we can be wo we areGrease is the word
Grease is the word, is the word that you heard
It's got groove it's got meaning
Grease is the time, is the place is the motion
Grease is the way we are feeling
This is the life of illusion
Wrapped up in trouble laced with confusion
What we doing here?We take the pressure and we throw away
Conventionality belongs to yesterday
There is a chance that we can make it so far
We start believing now that we can be who we areGrease is the word
Grease is the word, is the word that you heard
It's got groove it's got meaning

Ah, it was nothing really. Didn't damage the bike, and I just earned a little bruise. Mostly managed to stay on the thing too. I'm pretty sure I dented his door though. It's more that it just left me shaken. But at least no damage (it was one of those moments where you triple-check yourself out of disbelief at being OK).

Yeah, you didn't seem damaged, just wanted to express shock & concern. I've not been doored yet, came close a few times in NYC, though.

I think you spent over two hours trying to true that wheel.
It was fun, though possibly i should have been more sociable, and it was hardly the work of a master wheel-builder. By the time i gave up it was still a long way from round and my bending attempts had chipped a lot of paint, but the beer was making it hard to tell whether i was improving things or not. I'm glad it got you home though.
