• I'm looking for a front light that has a "horizontal" mount so I can attach it to the underside of the horizontal part of the stem, so my handlebars will be attachment free.

Anyone know of any? There's probably ones out there that have an adjustable mount, but have been browsing chainreaction and nothing...

  • Yeah, would be interested as well.
Tried clamping my cateye on the head tube, but the mount is way too small.

  • this is pretty ugly, and you need a torch to go with it.

  • yeah, that thing's a beast

  • what about one of these, Reelight goes on the fork, no batteries, no friction.....................

  • Or Knogs on the forks?

  • cable ties.......can't you do this with the new hope light?

  • Hmm velcro might be the answer...

  • someone n LFGSS made a light fixing with an old innertube rubber... pretty minimalist and cool !

  • Decathlon have a front light specifically designed to mount wit velcro on the stem. Even comes with a velcro strap. Dirt cheap too.

I have one of these, great idea but they rattle and thus annoy the rider.

I don't use it anymore cos of that.

  • get a fenix tactical light and some velcro and an old seat belt, with some patience you can sew a velcro belt to mount your light under your stem.

To be seen by others or to be see the road in front of you? I've taken a frog and mounted it under the stem. Doesn't give me jack shit of sight in front of me, but people tend to notice it.

  • KNogs frogs are a pathetic excuse for a light.
guys, the truth just has to be said.
    get a proper light !

  • Have you come across LightLane!??
Think it is just a concept design right now, but it's such a great idea it should be made real as soon as possible! Think it as designed by a couple of Americans, and it uses lasers to project your own personal bike lane on the road behind you, giving the night rider a psychological space into which dangerous cars will hopefully not stray!

  • Cable tie round stem, back clip of a knog underneath cable tie, rubbery bit underneath and into the gap between the face plate and stem.

  • I'm going to revive this thread - 2.5 years later, are there any lights that mount to the underneath of the horizontal part of the stem?

Looking for somethign really bright but sleek so those huge ugly fenix torch things are out...

  • Lezyne femto?

This is pretty versatile.I use it mainly riding unlit country lanes. Also handy walking the dog on pitch black farmland ;)

I mount it on top of my stem, but guess it would go under no probs. Easy to get on and off the bike. cyclestore.co.uk had 'em for 60 quid not long ago.

Not too sleek but it's a light, so function over fashion me tinks.
