Picked it up tonight. Got home and thought "these bars are a bit narrow" so got the tape measure out and found them to be 2 cm too narrow. Gah! Will be on the phone tomorrow to sort out replacements.

I thought I would put on my budget peugeot build. Frame found in a ditch. Only about £100 spent on it so far. New orange cloth bar tape is on its way and I am on the look out for new pedals, but I am super skint! Yeah, the photo was taken before chain adjustments!

really like this, i have a similar build on the go at the min. (also pretty skint) i have spent about £40 and still need pedals, chain and a rear wheel. hoping to bring it in around £100 :)

Classy, the low flange hubs finish this off beautifully. Classic looking yet modern.

one thing I love about the Woodrup, is fairly simple, the type and the name, it sound like a bizarre mix of eastern europe and english.

low flange hubs is defintely the way to go, seen too many bike with high flange nowadays! saving up for some low flange Phil at the mo.

Stem will be some generic alu 4-bolter

Picked this up off the bay last week....

am basically transferring parts from my other conversion, as my raleigh frame got given a beating by some thieving cnuts a while ago.

going to give it a respray, probably in original holdsworth orange, would like to get a new chainset. Something classic and/or period (early 80's)

any suggestions?

will be posting a wanted thread in a few weeks when my final student loan comes in, however am very bored of dissertation and revising so needing some ideas to fuel my internet searching/procrastinating.

also.... this frame does not have the screw in dropout adjusters. Are these all standard size - i would check my raleigh but am away from london and my fixed bikes for a few weeks. cheers

Not here yet, should've been this week, luckily it gave me enough time to gather certain part for the build, it's already my bike porn that'll be ridden to death everyday.

Just picked this up for the bargin price of €25. Waiting for the wheels to arrive. Currently running it as single speed on the old cartridge. Bike seems pretty light and I think most of the components have been upgraded.

I've chopped the bars down and flipped them but can't decide if I want TT brakes or a straight bar brakes...Will post more as it goes on

Don't get why people do this. Biggest disaster area of a bike I saw was someone running a five speed block on the back/two chainrings up front sans derailleurs and with only the front brake

It's got two brakes. Wanted to find the ratio that suits me best before I bought the fixed sprocket plus the derailers were a bit knackered.

It's all done I'm just too busy and lazy to take photographs of it at the moment. I'm begginning to wonder whether the Nitto NJS Pro stem + drops combo is the best choice in terms of comfort.

Also, I chipped the paint on the downtube yesterday, almost in the same place where there's a crack on my Brian Rourke. Fucking unlucky.

so is that just polished alu? Are you going to just keep it polished or apply a coating? Seems like you'd have to polish it a lot. I say this cause I've just done the same and am a bit worried about oxidisation.

New stem, old one was 90 degrees and looked a little skonky + resulted in a little too upright riding position.

I am STILL looking for a longer seatpost - the one on is a 200mm shimano 600 aero one. I could really do with just 10-20mm longer which is annoying. Is anyone willing to swap for mine + £ if they are not using the whole seatpost? Looking for something similar.

No, i don't have to polish it alot, only the lugs got the extra work. I am thinking about applying a clear coat..for protection of the decals and scratches on the frame, etc.

Yep, they were taken on the Winstanley, well spotted.

I think the estate was quite bad a few years ago but it's not bad now.
