Bloody hell though, what a mug that woman was for leaving a top of the range Brompton locked up outside Angel station.

Don't judge her too quickly--perhaps she's only just started cycling and didn't know about bike theft. (Yes, I'm sure there are people who don't.) Perhaps she only left it for five minutes and the thief jumped in at the first opportunity?

This goes without saying, but of course she should be entitled not to worry about her bike when leaving it somewhere. Of course, that's unrealistic in the current climate, but we need to keep working on overcoming this, as it has a well-known chilling effect on people's willingness to ride bikes around. Many people whose bikes are stolen switch back to other modes of transport.
