Don't forget that other cyclists are worse than drivers (aiming at those nodder day-glo type with MTB designed for the ruin of New Oxford Street that hasn't been repaired since the V2 bomb hit it during the war).

Yes. As I was saying to a mate earlier:
"Haven't had many car incidents recently. Or at least if I have, then I've forgotten them within about 10 seconds of them happening. I think it's more nodders that are the cause of my grief at the mo. I guess it's always giong to be worse when you're in central London.
The road that comes up North from Clapham Common and along the east side of Battersea Park is literally like some kind of noddy salt route, choc full of thousands upon thousands of nodding, crouching, head-tilting, heel-pedalling, wobbling, squeaky, wanna-race chumps.
Me included." -

You're brave! Having visited Naples a bit I must say it's low on my list of ideal places to cycle (high on the list of places to return to soon though). Palermo would be doable on a bike, I reckon, but Naples...

Funny you say that. I found a pube in my McDonalds chips after having eaten most of them, the guy next to me said; 'I blame Wendy Richards dying for this, sh*t's been happening to me all day and I keep getting her in mind'.
I quickly left before the conversation meandered somewhere a little less significant!

Has anyone cycled in malta?
Driving over there (albeit about 15 years ago... yes for those that know me, that puts me at 16... not having a driving license wasn't a barrier to renting a car) was close enough to suicidal...

Yeah, I was there the summer before last and took the racer, bit pointless as I never got up early enough to miss the mid day heat, and the afternoons where taken up with drinking and other such illustrious activities.
I was with the racer tho.
I can tell you I WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN. Driving out there is a joke. Not surprising really, I know quite a few Maltese, and not one of them can honestly say they haven't written off a car.The only place it was any good was over on Gozo where the roads are quiet and there are some great hills (if you like that sort of thing), but again pointless on a fixed.
Just don't do it! Save the money for the excess baggage and spend it on something more suitable, you can find something good easily in Parcheville! ;)

You must try to ride your bici in Napoli, acciottolato everywhere (like big stones for the road - like Paris-Roubaix maybe make you understand) and all the drivers, people on foots and moto bikes making competition to arrive in ther work or home. In London you are very lucky because everyone is not crazy on the road. Maybe the women are crazy, or the Irish girl I met is the only crazy one! Ha! E.
