  • Can anyone tell me what the finish is on these? They're perfect for the job I need (stopping!) but I want silver/chrome/metal brake levers and I can't find any in that price bracket and size. I wondered if I could slop a bit of Nitromors on it and, Fanny's your aunt, they'd be down to the bare metal? Ta.

  • Not sure but i'd say they are probably anodized? Which may or may not be a problem to removed..

  • anodized

  • Ovenpride will shift it if its' anodized, but you'll have to make sure that there are no internals that it will also dispose of.

  • caustic soda if its anodized (which is prob what oven pride is) - but that'll leave it dull looking, will need to buff it up with something.

  • Step by step...

main thing is to get an oven cleaner with a high Sodium Hydroxide content.

  • Sand it, autosol it, job done.

The Bikerapedar one looks like a winner actually, jesus that is shiny.

  • Very helpful guys, I shall give it a try and will even try my Cinelli quill stem after seeing that.

  • I've got the same problem, cheers! You guys know a lot
