Ooh get him and his framed Armstrong world champion jersey! It has no relation to the sale of course, so isn't a sad attempt to drive the price up is it?

Go down to tour de ville if you really really want.........it that badly my man.
-
• #12507
Personally i think it would be a shame to puppy kill a vintage bike in that good a nick!
-
• #12508
please don't buy it and turn it into a fixed.it needs to stay just as it is.
-
• #12509
why don't you buy a track frame if you want a fixed bike? this pikie is ace as it is. i wish that it was smaller
-
• #12510
Can anyone tell me roughly how much that's likely to go for? I want it, badly. Many hundreds of poudns badly. Also, how easy would it be to convert it to fixed? :)
Nothing is that hard to convert to fixed if you are willing to shell out a little bit extra.
The dropouts look to be semi-horizontal, so you should be good to go.

you've changed my mind, it does seem a bit grotesque to mess with a bike that's been untouched since 1975. But i'm still having it :D
aw i really wanted a fixed gear project
but when you're in love you're in love -

My own view is - fuck puppies - fuck living someone else's history - you should do what you want with it, bikes should be used and abused not preserved for museums and collectors.

i'm sure you could already tell this but i'm not the most informed person in the world re: bike modification
why are track frames preferable to road frames on a fixie? it seems like they'd be a huge gap where the cassette is if it was fixed -
• #12515
whoever buys that Mercier should get one of these!
