Cycles Uk Break-in

I just got a text off Dammit saying that the new Cycles Uk shop on the Greenwich side of Deptford Creek was broken into last night by smashing the window & the most expensive bikes stolen. (i didn't even know it had opened yet!?!)

I'm sure Dammit will update later as he lives above the shop.

I guess keep an eye out for brand new bikes being hawked (maybe in SE London), i'd imagine it'd be easy to trace them back to the shop by the serial numbers.

They don't know that yet ...

But seriously, they didn't have shutters? My wife works in M+S in Greenwich and 99.9% of their shoplifters are from the estates right there.
Those bikes will be for sale in Wetherspoons at lunchtime along with a load of sirloin steaks...

i remember when this happened to bike and run in east finchley. they had CCTV of the footage, kids on scooters, as they know police aren't allowed to chase them in case they fall of and kill themselves

yep. saw the police outside there on my way past this morning.

It has not yet opened- so the bikes were not locked up as they normally are.

Perfect time to break in for the local vermin.

Not exactly.. it's often because the speeding crims will end up killing some poor innocent bugger as they try and escape the cops. Cops have been shutting down chases for public safety for years.

That's not to say that I wouldn't like to see the cops crowbar the little cockstains to the skull.. :)

happened in oxford to posh bike shop, they dont have shutters, lots of £3K plus bikes nicked, something like 2 cervelos, and some other crap.

That's bad news for the guys. I hope their insurance covers it.

8 bikes gone, thieves came back for more- so presumably four of them.

Shutters will go in- just not yet.

Aha- looks like they are removing all the bikes until the shutters go in.

Got some of the Specialized road shoes with the SPD-R fitting on them for the tarck; £46 instead of £58.
