For carriage, London Bicycle down at Gabriels Wharf do trailer rental at £8 for the day. Might be better than bin bagging them around London. I seem to remember them being pretty decent people so they may be willing to do a deal for charidee minded event. Also, the LCC have a trailer as well. You could send a message to lcc Charlie to see if they are in a generous mood.
