yeah i know exactly what you mean. i don't like the hand position on the hoods on drop bars in any kind of traffic, makes me feel nervous. and gears just seem to get in the way, especially in bad weather.
the ridgeback is just a 5 or 6 year old alu frame, it was one of my first proper bikes i bought it in 2003. it's shit really but i've got so many bike bits and bobs i thought i might as well build a bike that i don't much care for and don't mind locking anywhere. it's got vert dropouts so it'll be singlespeed, using an old rear mech for tension, with flat pedals no straps. just waiting for a cheap enough SS crank on ebay + a BB.
can't wait to see the Tomasinni, knowing you i'd be NOS period-correct, not a scratch on it!
