I used them to get an old french frame sprayed a bianchi-esque green, it was good. they told me (and I paid) £30 for frame and forks. It wasn't a perfect job, but good enough for thirty quid, better than i could do on my own.

went for it today, price today was £25, must make it up on the spot, guy seemed to know what he was doing, said he did frames for bike shops in brum, fingers crossed...

Can anyone update this thread with a recommendation? chaliapin - how did your frame come out?

pretty decent, bit of paint in the BB threads, took a little while to scrape out but for 25 quid you can't complain, I'll try attach a pichttp://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&ik=550afa02ac&view=att&th=120119695d5880d2&attid=0.4&disp=inline&zw

Same here, still need to sort out my BB threads (should have put some cups in before it went to be sprayed-likewise the headset) but the finish was good for the £30 I paid. Pics will be up in the week maybe..

aaaaaah.
mate - it just keeps coming up with a Google mail login/service screen.....?It's because google mail isnt a public image hosting thing, its private email, any pics that are sent to you or by you are stored privately, so only you can see it when you're signed into your google account, or if the image is stored in your browser's cache memory. If you want you show people the picture, try uploading it to imageshack, or get a picassa account (picassa's a google service so you shouldnt have to do much to be able to sign up).

and whoops, i quoted the wrong post. -

Some pics of my resprayed Gitane, i've tryed to take pics of important bits, there might be some corrosion under the paint on the headtube, the the underside of the fork crowns aren't so good, but better than I could do for £30. This was done at Bournes.

Thanks for trying over and over Chaliapin - it looks like a good job from what i can see... you're happy with it yeah? -

yeah, it's decent, will probably use again, not perfect but the frame was pretty messy to start with. Make sure you put some old BB cups in as discussed above.
have been quoted £20 by these guys for blast and coat which seems like a bargain, anyone used them, are they shit? any other to suggest?

apparently they're not called Bournes any more and they may have moved but I got some powder coating guy on the end of the phone who gave me the quote.
