I've got a birthday coming up in a few months and I'm thinking of asking for a stand if ppl ask me what I want.
Any recommendations?
I'm currently using an old pair of suspension forks in a workmate with old spokes stuck through the rubber boot to gauge left and right truing. Its not an ideal set up to say the least.
It'll mostly be used for truing but I'll build the odd wheel everynow and again.
Its personal use only too so I don't need anything too high grade/expensive - infact the cheaper the better.
The latter looks more robust but I think the former looks perfectly functionable. I can't quite figure out how they do different hub widths though and still keep the rim (or rather the theoretical rim position) central.
Thing is, is it just a false economy buying a cheap one (like some cheap tools/parts).
Of course I'd like a Park Tools one but it won't be used much so hardly seems worth it.
