    It's us humans who are in trouble, not the planet we live on. If focus shifted to that I think you'd get a whole lot more ordinary people to change the way they live - use less and generate less waste rather than use and waste lots but recycle it. And if the earth warms, and if the sea levels rise then spending money and effort on living with these changes is a far better use of money than playing at King Canute. The rich, powerful, and politically-motivated environmental lobby is part of the problem.
