  • I remembered today why I stopped snapping demos: boredom with the demonstrators. But the crowds...

  • Is it necessary to have a camera in order to be able to demonstrate? Or are all demonstrators photographers these days?

Wasn't like that in my day. In my day we were photographed by Special Branch rather than vice versa.

And now we are photographed by the FIT team. I have to wear my press card round my neck.

Got a job today so did that instead. Might head over tomorrow.

  • Here's some more trash for you

  • Reminds me of that Kinks song. You know the one.

    Lola.

  • ww - new avatar? why the change?

  • Two of the guys in my office brought in their DSLRs for taking pics of the riots.

I discovered who my real father was.

  • Will, you should have let me know you were just around the corner from my office. I would have bought you lunch.

  • I discovered who my real father was.

    That's so fucked up ;o)

  • ww - new avatar? why the change?

It's because your parents fuck you up. They might not mean to, but they do.

  • I had the best photo opportunity ever but no camera, policeman responding to a call and in their haste falling all over each other on the floor.

  • Radios, truncheons, helmets all of it all over the deck.

  • I am an LFGSS manchester person and wondering if anyone had a place in fairly central london i could leave my bag for a few hours tomorow for the second protest?
i was at the one today in RBS and BofE and left it at my gf's house hwere i can't tomorow, so any helpd? just till about 5?

  • that sounds jokes, i saw a similar thing when someone let off a stink bomb or whatever they are and they all fell over trying to get away from the STENCH

Probably no use, but if you don't find anywhere and you're in London by train there's a left luggage place at Euston station - "Excess Baggage Company"

  • Nice pix Will.

As for the rest of 'em, if you don't take pictures, you weren't really there. Ditto any gig you have been to in the last 5 years. To think that getting out a camera used to mean... er, what exactly?

  • Thankyou de Selby

  • For a brief while I carried a camera and once even a video camera. I discovered, however, that my appreciation of events and my memory of them was enhanced if I just experienced them. Anyway, there's always someone else with a camera snapping away, if you need souvenirs.

  • I discovered who my real father was.

You're a poet and you know it, innit?

  • those protesters are just larkin about...

  • Well at least they were amongst plenty of high windows...

  • And I know this ain't paradise...

  • Toads

Why should I let the toad work
    Squat on my life?
Can't I use my wit as a pitchfork
    And drive the brute off?

Six days of the week it soils
    With its sickening poison -
Just for paying a few bills!
    That's out of proportion.

Lots of folk live on their wits:
    Lecturers, lispers,
    Losers, loblolly-men, louts-
    They don't end as paupers;

Lots of folk live up lanes
    With fires in a bucket,
    Eat windfalls and tinned sardines-
    They seem to like it.

Their nippers have got bare feet,
    Their unspeakable wives
Are skinny as whippets - and yet
    No one actually starves.

    Ah, were I courageous enough
    To shout, Stuff your pension!
But I know, all too well, that's the stuff
    That dreams are made on:

    For something sufficiently toad-like
    Squats in me, too;
Its hunkers are heavy as hard luck,
    And cold as snow,

And will never allow me to blarney
    My way of getting
The fame and the girl and the money
    All at one sitting.

I don't say, one bodies the other
    One's spiritual truth;
But I do say it's hard to lose either,
    When you have both.

  • I once heard a pediatrician say that when men take photos of their children being born is to detach themselves from childbirth and to give themselves an important job to do. I also remember a friend showing us the photos of his newly born lying on his naked mother and wished that he had stayed in the waiting room smoking cigarettes rather than snapping away.

I really like your pictures Will, taking photos of people taking photos is great entertainment.
