I may have the very thing , its an Orbit America circa 1990, litle used and living in my loft.
The tubing is 531 c - I think its a 19" ish- though with a long top tube. It has no toe over lap . It's a very good starter TT/Triathlon bike and was well regarded in its day.
However, its partly dismantled bits , though I can reassemble . You would just need new cables, a block (7 speed ) and a chain. The latter I can throw in if you want to get riding asap.
Its got an old Sram group set which is indexed and I don't know if its Shimano compatible ; I suspect it may be . Any way , I ve some shimano 600 levers with friction over ride I can put on .
I ve bars and stems, so we may be able to adjust the reach to fit your girlfriend. Will you be needing pedals as well ?
And perhaps best of all, it has horizontal drop outs!

I am up in the attic tonight to check.
All it really needs are new cables and reassembly.
The tricky bits of are done already, ie the headset and BB. So its mostly about puttiing on the gears etc
How good are you at this sort of thing ?

Peter, can you drop me a PM about the bike is fatbloke pulls out?
A bit OT, I know, but the old lady is taking up triathlons and wants something cheap that we can re-bay if she hates it. Nothing on the 'bay, wondered if anyone here had something suitable in the shed... PM me. Cash waiting!
