  • Ok here goes ...
I am currently working on a Photography Project documenting allotments and am on the search for willing volunteers to let me come and photograph them throughout the year working on their allotments !
So if anyone can help me out in anyway and not too camera shy your help would be greatly appreciated !
Please pm me many many thanks x

  • I dont have an alotment but there is a big one (where my mum used to have two) just off Cat Hill between East Barnet and Cockfosters.

  • My husband runs an allotment project for refugees who want to learn more about permaculture and who want to grow their own food.

  • I heard Pip got a bit horticultural over at Fiddy towers...

  • I'm volunteering at one in stoke newinton.

  • Hi Stix I have an allotment in Grantham Lincs. We are just beginning the planting season once again so ground is being prepped although I already have in :

    Tates (Earlies)
Onions - Red, White & Shallots
    Garlic
    Broad Beans
    Parsnips
    Radish
    Lettuce

Considering a planting system called the 'Three Sisters' which is an unusual American Red Indian theme of Corn; Beans & Squash.

Anyway you are welcome to come and take a few snaps.

Can't PM you as I picked this up from Twitter and this forum requires I must be a member for 300 years and dont have time for that. Too much digging to do!

If you want to make contact just follow me on Twitter:

You could try to check out Manor Gardens Allotments. This is the famous community that was transplanted by the Olympics to a site where very little grows.

Already well-documented, of course, so may not be what you're looking for.

  • Thank you to all ^^^^^will be in touch x

Hey when did you become so green fingered Pip !!

  • im a country lad from the south west, and have grown everything from carrots, to weed, to opium poppys to giant 4 story sunflowers. dont have an alotment, but ive been growing stuff all my life.

dont grow an illegal stuff anymore as ive got too old for the paranoia and dont feel invicible anymore. it also supprisingly hard work, and id rather work for money and buy the stuff from other people who can be arsed to grow it.

this years project is bees, im getting them delivered next weekend. i cant fucking wait to taste that fresh honey. dont know if you can really visit as its in the wilds of pensance, but i can send you pictures if your interested.

  • Two of my mates share an allotment in Herne Hill, they'll make awesome and willing subjects for your project, they're both mental rock 'n' roll girls... PM me and I'll hook you up...
    Oops! PM'd! :]

  • Melon
I do love the taste of fresh honey
pick out a few bee pupa first

I don't live to far away from you either

  • Allotments are wicked, I have one in my name that my mom uses, and she has about 5 plots in total in various peoples names. You should see the quantity of fucking pumpkins she brought home a few years ago, im tellin ya man like about 200.

I would have one but im too lazy to go to the site, i'd rather just ave veg growing in my back garden, fuck going anywhere further than that, im all about comfort and convenience. I will ride bare mileage to buy veg, but not to fucking grow them man.

  • I had an allotment once, but it was way too far and needed way too much work.

Garden is way better if you have one, even containers will do.

You wouldn't like my plot - my front door to the plot is 1 1/4 miles of 1-in-10. Fine if you've just done some miles, but straight out the door it's a bit much really. Hence I do the absolute minimum of work required to stop it being a jungle. Or my wife does anyway.
