I dunno. I always found the 9am a bit too slow. But definately the best way to start. I would have wanked it if I'd done the 8am Surrey ride first time as I had some glass in my tyre and didn't have enough inner-tubes for my problems. Luckily the 0900's are easy and wait.
Quite a lot of the boys and girls at Dynamo are weather aware and tend not to want to get the bikes dirty. I found that I did Sunday morning rides with 1 other person about 5 times during the winter!
