hi people, first timer here, be gentle...
got one of these: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3005/2610978779_97e4c7ca01.jpg?v=0
but not in that condition at all! i got it free at the end of last summer and the inner tubes are popping out the tyre walls, and its a bit bashed, but the frame seems solid.
i wanna convert it to my first fixie... any one got any experience or some helpful tips? i also dont have much money so if you know of any where thats good to pick up cheap/second hand bits n pieces i'd really appreciate that!cheers

Hi forum people, I am new to your boards, so full on piss taking straight away. I am from Wolverhampton UK, and a member of the citys Wheelers cycling club. Love all types of riding but fixed is my 1st love, though I am without a fixed ride at the mo and am riding a SS hardtail to pass the time. Yes I am an old fart, but still enjoy the total buzz of 2 wheels.

Hey,
I'm new, to the forum and to fixed. Looking to start building my first bike in the next month or two, thought this'd be the place to come. Are there many Bristol-based people on here? -

Hi, Finally got round to signing up. Been skulking around anonymously for a while.
I've been riding fixed for about a month now on a on a piece of junk who's name I dare not speak. Hoping it will last a few more weeks until I have knowledge and cash to get a proper bike. -

What with these colourful square/ pattern avatars on all the new users? Is this a new feature that offers you a specially generated pic when you join? Hello everyone, by the way!

They're gravatars ( http://www.gravatar.com/ ).
The idea being that everyone gets a unique avatar which makes it easier to identify who is posting what.
And the secondary idea being that if you happen to use gravatar and register... you already have your avatar set and don't have to think about it.

But they just all look the same? I think it's best to pic your own image. Let is say something about yourself!

If you have selected no avatar here, and no gravatar... then they're all different, unique (to that person) variations on a common theme.
If you have selected no avatar here, but have upload an image as your gravatar... then that's your avatar here.
If you have uploaded an avatar... then that takes priority over everything.
The idea is to encourage people to upload an avatar or gravatar that says something about them, and before that happens to still have a uniquely identifiable avatar in place to help with recognition when reading stuff.

Hi everyone!
I'm new to LFGSS, but have been using the forums for a while for advice on how to convert my 1989 Peugeot Premiere to fixed. Am currently riding single speed but hope to be fixed within the next few weeks... -

Apparently, drinking in the workplace is going off the scale in this recession. ;)
