that is the dodgiest bodges i've ever seen on a bike, for the sake of a pair of forks
agreed, what is the point anyway? to get slightly tighter clearances? hmm.

that saxil is porn worthy. very very nice indeed. im very envious, my only cripe is the saddle which looks a bit out of place on a bike with very little black.
those fork do look a bit scary but theyre probably alright if welded well. i dont think i would have bothered and just bought some new forks, but you get points in my book for a bit of ingenuity and DIY.

Just finished this...
I used to ride KHS MTBs a looooong time ago and got
a) nostalgic and
b) luckyIt's a bit of an exclusive. I managed to harrangue the UK KHS distro to part with his only example of this so it's the only 2009 FLite 100 frame in the UK at the mo. It came as a complete bike but I stripped the OTP components off and built it up with a few spare (and not so spare) bits.

love the shape and clearance but just wished they tidied that weld
-
• #7491
Why in the middle of the fork, and not in the dropouts or in the crown
do you have a pic of the welding?more space to flex, at either end there is no give. same principle as windows i guess, they are easy to break in the corners because the impact is dissipated through the distance from the impact point to the points it's fixed.
And you can easily insert a supprt in the middle. i don't think it makes it that much more unstable. be good to see the finished product

argh, i contacted KHS uk importers a while ago and they were having none of it. they need to start importing that frameset, flat crown forks and good geo at a reasonable price. I want.
