I always wanted an irremovable gps tracking device encased in a star-fangled washer inside my seattube, which automatically sent me a text message if my bike moved more than a few yards when switched on, and then sent me a message with its precise location every 500m or so. It would be switched on and off by remote control or some sort of swipe tag. The device's energy source (some sort of rechargeable battery with a very low self-discharge rate) would be topped up by an electromagnetic device thingumy, basically yuo'd need a couple of wires coming out of the bottle boss holes in the seattube if present, attached to a solenoid on the chainstay, and there'd be a powerful magnet attached to yer spokes. There'd need to be some sort of overcharge protection too...
All in all it would be heavy, fiddly to set up, and a pain to maintain, but it would be ace to be able to follow the cunt who robbed your bike and
catch him and whack him over the headset the police on him -
