Right these lot are on the bike shed at the campsite I'm staying at. All look to have potential to me, and I reckon I could strip them down and send them back to the UK to be built up or sold on ebay. Nice lugged old road frames, what do people think? All tyres are flat and each has plenty of dust so all have been there for a while and none are road worthy. Shall I talk to the owners? Make them an offer? How much? Wdda think?

Edit: and we're focussing on the bikes people, not the lady

  • .

  • bring the 1 in pic no.0319-1646(CVBS)[6] back

  • people who write are writers. spouses of gentlemen who like to read

  • you've been a lot of help, thanks

  • by the time you deal with shipping and customs, i'm not sure it'd be worth it.

  • Looks like they are NZ-made versions of raleighs - at least the Morrison:

I think I'd go with teddy on this one

  • can you bring her too

  • Nasty rides. The bikes look rubbish too.

  • None of them are amazing, really wouldnt be worth bringing any of them over.

Just dust em off and get a few locals riding em.

And are you a glamour photographer or something?

  • They look like a load of rusty old bangers that should probably be left where they are.

    And the bikes, too. ba-doom-tsch

  • man, you wouldn't turn those "bikes" down! I'd ride them fast!

  • I'd like to fiddle with their nipples! THE NIPPLES ON THE SPOKES TO TRUE THE WHEELS OF COURSE.

  • None of those bikes are worth the trouble.

I think I'd rather go with teddy

    fixed

  • they'll cause you a load of grief and cost more than you'd bargained for ;)

  • Whatever you do, don't lend one to your mate. It'll come back with the bottom bracket loose and things will never feel the same again.

  • What do you mean, 'old' bikes?

  • Ha!

So not worth it. How about just one, stripped down to frame and stuck with my bike on the way home? If I can get it within weight won't cost me nowt. I wanted a project when I got home

  • And are you a glamour photographer or something?

Nope, she's a friend, sent me the pics

The bars on the first bike look nice! My uneducated eye liked that frame best too. Personally I'd try and decide which had the best componentry, and assume that, this was the one with the better quality frame.

I'd go for it (one for a project) and try to bring as much of the bike back as possible (esp bits which can kept on the bike when fixed)

(Sorry too tired to think of clever rude comment)
