speak for yourself. They were hard fought, and pretty good to watch, apart from the moment you pulled a 90º textbook t-bone, at full speed without slowing down at all, that was plain dangerous. Sure MT play dirty, they are renowned for it, but playing twice as dirty back is fucking low and sad. That tarnished the whole fixture for me. Shame.
I sympathise with Ian, when I subbed for DBT against MT, every time I got the ball Ryan would either try to take me out himself, or shout 'take the man, take the man', which did get more than a little tiresome.
On the other hand, MT lost that game against DBT 0-3, so I am surprised that they still employ tactics that clearly aren't working.
However, if you are going to retaliate, you should consider the matter closed, and leave it on the court.
The MT guys aren't malicious, they are just playing according to the rules as they currently stand. There is absolutely nothing in the rules to say that you can't play the man, if he has the ball, apart from the totally subjective 'don't be a dick' which is a nice statement, but completely unenforceable in any objective manner.
Ryan (and the rest of MT) obviously don't think that all that wheel-flicking nonsense comes under 'don't be a dick'.
I think it should be considered foul play, but by the same measure, so should attacking the mallet of a goal-tender off the ball. But the rules would need to be rewritten to reflect that. I know that everyone loves DBAD, but it's obviously not working...
