• A bit of a twitchy ebay finger and a coincidental train journey has left me with this beauty. Sadly its way too big for me, so its up for sale here before it goes on ebay next week:

    Big Pic here: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3643/3368481556_8f1d963a26_b.jpg

Claud Butler Electron, stamped 1966 on the bottom bracket. All straight and true. Paint work and badges / logos in great condition, but with some light chips where you'd expect to see them on an older frame. Champ Stripes! Size is 24" CTC

More photos on the flickr set here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/86796100@N00/sets/72157615532959873/ taken prior to cleaning it and realising it was never going to fit my legs without some sort of corrective surgery.

120 rear spacing and was set up to be run fixed when I bought it.

Asking £130 ono for the frame and forks (incl headset)

Offers on the lovely stem and bars and also on the BB and cottered cranks (stamped NF9).

Also Lyotard touring pedals and Christophe clips, but not got photos of them yet. Bearings running smooth.

NO POSTAGE, but viewing at South Beers / Herne Hill and collection Brixton / Central

PM me for more info if you're interested.

  • Pretty...

    Clearance for 27inch wheels?

    How much for the lot?

Have you actually built it up?

  • Nope not built it up yet, as I realised on the train journey home that it would never fit a short arse like me. It didn't come with a wheelset, but 27s would fit fine judging by the clearances when I put a 700c set on.

Not really thought about the total cost yet, but something along the lines of <£15 for the pedals, c. £35 for the bars & stem. Still researching the crank / bb / chainring.

What were you thinking? PM me if you like?

  • nice frame! chainring looks very worn by the pictures, how bad is that?
how about 130 for frame, forks, headset, bb and stem?

  • ahh, I was after that stem!

  • its still up for grabs Ed!

  • Right, bumping this up again. The three interested parties have all succumb to financial crisis, partner crisis (not being able to sneak another bike into the house, pff!), or some sort of spontaneously combusting drummer situation.

So price drop down to **£110 **ono for the whole lot - I need bedroom space back and this sale's helping me to leave the country!

You could split the parts and sell them for a profit and then Dogsballs would *love *you...

    and an original catalogue pic:

  • Hmm I seem to remember paying £35 for a Falcon Black Diamond about 1966

    { Snowy (pseudonym- Shaw T'Arse ?) - 24" frame- you'd need a ladder to get on there, and use stilts to operate the pedals! Over exuberant or what? :-))) }

  • I'm in if you could reconsider the postage issue?

  • @ El Diablo - well, as I said, itchy finger, and a bright shiny frame! I couldn't resist.

And Joe, its provisionally sold, buyer is coming to collect today. I'll let you know (and the other interested peeps) if the sale falls through.

  • Sold to Ben, pleasure to meet you and remember to post up the pics when you've rebuilt it!
