@dante - you say these are easy to make, why don't you just put up the details on how to bend the wood and we can all make these beauties ourselves. [i.e. just soak in water? how long did you soak, dry - did you just attach to an old rim to give it shape?]

yeah - ikea blind dismantled, soak over night in a bath of water, form round an old 700c wheel and tape with insulating tape, leave for as long as you can bare - i'm doing minium of 2 weeks or so but need to experiment. ( might straighten up at the first drop of rain for all i know).
cut to desired length, round off ends.
cut strip of metal and bend in a u shape with edges for bolts
drill holes in fender and bracket (see pics at top of thread)
