Valve caps are not needed you mofos!
Aye, except for when there's salt on the roads and your little unscrewey-thingey on the value rusts tight...

Valves are stainless. I've had no issues with this in London.
I think you're making up reasons to keep them on.. valve cap lover. -

Those little threaded valve thingies are needed even less.
Gumbies, feel free to continue to use them. Some kind of conical washer put on inside the rim, like a spoke eyelet but for valves, might be worth trying.

thought they were brass

thought they were brass
Looking at the one on my desk, the valve stem is stainless steel, the threaded rod that pulls the valve closed is brass, and i'm not sure what the twiddly nut is made from (shiny silver colour, but softer than the stem). Contact between dissimilar metals in the presence of salty water can cause galvanic corrosion.

£2.20 each for michelin tubes. Free delivery too.
Cheers Courant, I've just stocked up! I can normally only get these in 19-23 in France - they've apparently got kevlar in the rubber wich might not do much to prevent punctures but means they don't need pumping up so often.
and I nearly didn't bother to read this thread.....

Decathlon, CRC, PX if they arrive.
Lidal/Aldi ? no idea if they sell them among other bike stuff.
Tescos are like £3+ wilkos are similar and halfords.Recently had some Decaths 700x38 £2.19 seem ok. Got some lighter 700x28 Schwalbe for £3.99 from crc.
Did try local bike shop few years back, got a tube and old school rubber patch kit, had "some" change from a tenner.
That reads more like a hippy 3am drunk post. Can't you tell that he's already getting too tired to argue? ;)
