All manner of crank brands (better and worse) have failed in the past and will fail in the future. Until it becomes a regular occurrence it could be a single manufacturing defect, installation fuckup, maintenance fail, etc. Has anyone else ruined a set of RPM cranks?

Holy jeez, how did you manage that!!!! Did the spider buckle too, or was it just the ring that went. I.e. should I consider replacing just the ring or both. I retract my comments!
Otherwise, I didn't bother with the standard saddle and rims from Pearson and specced my own. My bum's particular and I prefer box section rims.
Two of the spider arms have hairling cracks in. One completely broke off. You can see one broken one in the bottom photo.

Yeah you're right, but because I've never had a pair of cranks break before on any of my bikes (even on a bmx that I did loads of really hard sprocket rocks / chainring stalls / whatever you want to call it on) it came as quite a surprise and I'm not keen on buying the same crankset again

The seat is shite - after a few months it will dip in the middle, leaving your perenium unsupported (I know you shouldnt put any pressure on your peri but the point is that the middle of that seat is weak as fuck).
+1 Had the same on my Touche. Now have a comfy Spoon.

my fsa veros are running fine , but are about to be upgraded . not ridden one but the hanzo from pearsons looks like an expensive and heavy piece of shit .

"Looks" heavy??

"I've a Steel Pearson Hanzo and so far, I'm quite happy with it. With full narrow mudguards it weighs in at 9.6 kg. I'm sure by buying dropping the mudguards, buying a carbon fork, swapping out the handlebars and stem for lighter versions I could shave a kilo off that. Maybe more. It's not got the lightest wheels in the world either."

Too slack? It's a fucking winter bike not a track bike.
Spacer stack + Anatomics FTW!!

Could be improved by taking out all those spacers under the stem and changing the handlebar to traditional curve, but the geo would still be too slack.
congrats you are wrong in every way, next time try looking at a bike before going all hipster on its ass.

Fair points, it's just that I've never found just because it's winter I need to have a long head tube and longer wheelbase. I use the same type of bike, just singlespeed/fixed. Obviously if it works for people then fine.

That's all well and good.
Just because a Porsche will make it across the Nairobi desert doesn't mean you should drive it there.. -
