Yes, definitely report it--and don't forget, it doesn't have anything to do with cycling. It's simply assault or worse. I'm only saying that because when a series of attacks on cyclists happened in the N1 area a few years ago, I spoke to someone who said 'I won't talk to the police, as they won't do anything because I'm a cyclist'. Fortunately, attacks on cyclists are comparatively rare, but again, there's no reason to somehow consider them in any different way from other kinds of attacks.
