Wanted: Shimano kit needed

Hi...I need a set of Shimano 8 speed down tube levers and a......matching rear mech...either a recent...Tiagra or 105 in a short cage.....in good condition...will pay postage.....cheers......Leon

Although the bike has been built up with mainly 105.....the gears are 6 speed cassette....which are hard to get hold of these days...presently the ratio is 15-20 and the front rings are 53-42....so what i have is not enough at the top and too little at the bottom......so i intend to go to 8 speed.....just got some birthday money and want to get some of the kit.....before i waste the money on rubbish!....So my first requirements are the rear mech and the levers.

Got a NOS 80's Shimano RS and downtube shifter if you want to go a bit retro :p

Does the combo do 8 speed and indexed changes?...is the RS the rear mech?....Do you have L and R dt shifters?.....I like your name....when penguins turn bad!

Yeah, im mostly a very aimiable Penguin. Its just black cab drivers that do me in :p

How ironic....i was once a black cab driver.....but i take your point about them.....they can be a menace to cyclists...most of them are very very right wing into the bargain!.....give em a whack with your pump!.....but thanks for your offer....cheers
