I like to lean forward a bit, and drop a couple of air-biscuits when someone gets too close.
Chocolate digestives or rich tea?

Out on a training ride the other day on my road bike,
a guy rode past me looking quite smug as he did it but going quite alot faster than me
i sprinted as he went infront and tucked in behind his rear wheel
stayed there for about 2km then we got to traffic lights, he hadnt noticed me, and when he looked behind him he seemed very pissed off
i said thanks and went on my way.
as i looked back he seemed to have cheered up a bit.
i realise now that i should have tried to take a turn at the front, but he was going fast enough for me to be hanging on just behind him so i oculdnt really? -

yeeeees and i like the diesel taint a lot too
you don't really get that unless you're drafting an idle bus.... drafting a bus just gets you there quicker... until the next stop anyway

Generally unless it is someone I know (which means I know how they ride) I do not want them draughting me.
Fixed and freewheel bikes handle v differently so it makes it more risky mixing the two when draughting. Twice I have been hit by people trying ineptly to draught me.
There have been a couple of times when I have ben chatting to another cyclist and one or the other of us has said "feel free to tuck in behind my wheel". Generally its pretty pointless on urban rides. Though as I am starting to train for la Marmotte I am discovering how important it is on the open road, and the different kind of observation required to do it well.
RPM's RP training rides have been another good place to practice draughting on a fixed wheel bike.
might be worth going on a few club rides as the more experienced riders will give you loads of tips that'll really help

It tends to piss people, but more importantly you dont know how HE rides, Every person in a bunch needs to know how it works and trust each other to a certain extent. If he'd braked hard and caused you to stack up you couldnt really complain right?

it doesnt bother me when someone does it, its a compliment in a strange sort of way! My friend broke his collarbone drafting me last year, having to stop a bit too fast. Suddenly hes on my bike with me groaning away. Still got wasted at the party we were off too, fucking hardcore.
