Hello All
I am quite new to all this, have been commuting on my charge plug for a couple of weeks, and have been reading the forum a fair bit (makes me feel very uncool for still riding singlespeed and not fixed).
I am tempted to come along to North drinks tomorrow and say hello as it is almost on my way home.
I have never attempted the West Hill or Swains Lane without gears will it kill me? (I might have to give it a try tonight). I guess that at least one response will be HTFU.
Assuming a newb is welcome, is there somewhere you guys meet and ride up together? I can at least guarantee a good laugh to those who watch me pushing my bike most of the way up the hill.

P!MP, You weren't even there!
I have bought some boxing gloves and need to do something with themIn the real world, I'm going to watch the Tyson documentary at the Curzon, (a Q&A with the director)
I think a size 16 lass might crush/break me. I'm very spindly.

Hi Simon,
Of corse newbes are welcome. The more the merier. West and Swains are bastard hills but if you have been riding for only two weeks there is no (well not much anyway) shame in having to get off and push. They will get easier the more you do them. Anyway, come up to the flask and have a beer or two or three then come for pizza after. See the thread tomorrow to see if anyone is meeting at the lamb (on Lambs Conduit Street) for the ride up from there.

You are more than welcome. I was made welcome only 4 weeks ago, and the bruising has nearly all healed. All I need to worry about are the mental scars and a dwarf which has taken residence in my bedroom. Donut, do you want your dwarf back? I can't catch him, he is too oily.
It is a shame I can't escort you tomorrow, as I would. Next time.
Try Swines tonight, and just spin. If you try it tonight, you'll see how much easier it is with others tomorrow.

And did you have you Plug locked up outside Maccy D's on Kentish town road today? -
• #2893
not my plug I am afraid - mine sits in the basement of my office between about 8 in the morning and going home time.
What sort of time do people head up to the flask?

Fuckin good luck if you tried Swains tonight! A nasty North head wind I reckon, it buffeted me all the way home to Hendon. -
• #2897
Did swains tonight, had to walk about 60 yards of it and the rest of it was not much quicker than walking pace! Def up for drinkies tomorrow.

I hate that bloody Swains Lane, have never managed it yet. Come say hello tomorrow night, I may even come up myself seeing as I have been very unsociable recently.
