I certainly hope you were searching for "green tyres".

"a friend" tried these a while ago - ride like cr@p. A last resort if you really can't be arsed to fix the occasional flat - and you'd have to proper lazy - can't adjust tyre pressure either. Can recommend bonty hardcase 25c's - not a bad ride and 1 flat in 10 months, although will be switching to Carbon Krylions when they're back in the shops...

I got the 28c versions, very tough, mine get a lot of abuse, brakeless riding tricks etc etc, and not a single puncture since i've owned them (2-3 months), and take nice high pressures :).

Not a recommendation mind (though general consensus on these seems to be favourable), just a statement of fact. Quite dear for what they are, though, compared to similar high-mileage decent training tyres (e.g. rubino pros, vred fortezza quattro).

In the past used Specialized Mondo 700*23, very bad, puncture every few days....Michelin Krylion Carbon 700*25, just ok, puncture every few weeks.
If you want puncture free get Marathon Plus, the top of the top, no puncture after 10 months and 8,000k, and still look good!!!!!
I now use the smaller 700*25 size, though is a bit heavy...700gr -

these are interesting, a friend has some 700x21...... no punctures and ride ok

Mondo's are shit - got punctures almost every day I rode them. Turned out to be a tiny piece of wire (single strand og brake cable?) got through the casing and under pressure of hitting a pot hole would pierce the inner tube causing a really slow puncture. When you took the tire off there was no sign of anything. Bought gator skins and liked, now on Bonty's which I also like.

You guys are either not inflating your tyres correctly, running old tyres, riding straight through piles of glass, smashing your bike into potholes or some other mistake.
I've run Mondos on the S-Works until the rear wore out (few '000 k) and I'm still using the front on the Condor. I punctured once the other week when I smashed it into a hidden pothole going around a bus near home - no fault of the tyre.
Mondos are fine.

TVM Hippy, no i searched on puncture free. i run the marathons on my touring bike and gator skins on my fixed. i did also try green tyres as they are the firm that make green tyres which can also be green if you wish. i was looking at them for my tricross single which seems bomb proof and go anywhere, a bit like a land rover and just thought that for tow path use, where the ride isn't as critical, they may be ok.
rab, you cheeky fellow. i can be a lazy arse, but not in this case, just looking for a robust ride.
all, TVM.

specialized armadillos i had no problems with, switched to a conti gatorskin, which promptly punctured three times in a week. Switched to a bonti hardcase, and got another puncture. Turns out I nicked the tube with a tyre lever, pinched it against the rim when I was putting the tyre back on, like a twat. Newbie fail over (only twenty plus years on bikes), and they're fine. Marathon plus will be going on the build when the rims arrive and the damn thing is built...

Conti gatorskins are nowhere near the likes of armadillos or marathons, but that is not surprising since they weigh about 30% of those!

That sounds like a classic case of a pinch puncture. Usually caused by a very narrow tyre that collapses and 'pinches' the inner tube when one hits a pothole - the resulting damage looks like a small snake bite on the inner tube. Could be the pressure was a bit low.

Ive sold armadillos for years, and they are very effective in terms of puncture protection, but they ride like they are made of brick. Not very good for lightweight wheels really. OK with steel frames i guess...

Airless puncture proof tire. Maybe it was the British spelling that threw off the web spiders.

While no pneumatic tire is 100 percent flatproof, the Armadillo flat-prevention technology has proven so effective that Specialized is now offering an unconditional guarantee on all 2000 model year tires. If any Armadillo tire ever flats in use, the company will replace the tube free. Consumers can write to Specialized describing how a puncture occurred along with tire size and tube type to receive a replacement tube at no charge. The best "How I flatted an Armadillo" stories will even be posted on the company's Web site at www.specialized.com. Specialized says its no-fault replacement offer is good through Sept. 1, 2001.
Armadillo tires from Specialized Bicycles feature a subtread barrier of DuPont Kevlar fabric impregnated with a Kevlar-engineered elastomer that seals all gaps in the fabric weave, along with a synthetic cap ply material that prevents sidewall cuts. This technological troika is designed to take whatever the road—or the trail—dishes out. -

I had a go one some of these about ten years ago and they were really uncomfortable.
Like concrete tyres.New ones might be better though, otherwise your wrists may fall off....
