• Hi
Had an addison lee motorcycle courier try to take me off today.
He came up behind me and rode like a complete fuckass, nearly took me and a couple of other people off. Gave him a bit of a look at picadilly circus lights, to which he decided to chase me and try to get me off a few times, riding up shaftesbury avenue. He put his foot on my frame and pushed.

Anyhow, I've reported it up and just need to track this witness down. A japanese guy on a white bike with (i think) bullhorns and expensive in ear headphones was riding up the road with me and saw him too, and we shared a word about him. I was on a geared bike.

Sorry to be so vague but it's all the info I have, the motorbike rider was really fucking aggressive and I was fuming, if I can just find this witness my life will be a bit easier talking to addison lee.

    Cheers :)

  • addison lee are cunts, they sponsor smoking for fucks sake.

  • Those fucking addison lee bastards, are bastards. I had a customer who has been knocked off their bike due to a shitty AL driver. Good luck tracking the dude down!

  • They have asked me to go in for a meeting, they think they know who he is. I don't care if it's their policy to get their lot to ride like arses, I'm going to be a fucking pain in their arse.
Fuck boris' idea of m/bikes in bus lanes as well....

  • Oh, take care and good luck!

I'm japanese, but no one has white bike with bullhorn.
You don't have any pictures of him?

Normally, we (japanese) are students in UAL or goldsmith if he was riding fixed gear, i guess.
Wouldn't be so difficult,,,, I hope.

  • hopefully.
he may have had risers. I was too busy fucking off to notice. white frame though. didn't see fixed or ss, one gear though :)

if you do know anyone could you ask about?
    cheers :)

  • Yep! Of course.

At the moment, i don't have any friends riding fixed or ss white bike.

But if i find, i'll ask them.

    Take care!

  • there's gotta be some cctv up shaftsbury ave. head back to the area and scope out for a camera, find out who it belongs to and ask them for the footage. I may be wrong, but I think you have a right to any footage with you in it.

  • Hope you get the bollox, that's inexcusable carry on!!

  • it's disgusting behaviour. the fall could have killed you what was going through his head?
I hope you get the right man and no-one else has to go through that.. get the fuck bang to rights!

  • He tried to kick you off your bike?! Fuuuuck. I've got a new route to work that involves almost back streets only now. It's a flippin' warzone on some of London's roads. I hope you catch/castrate the knob.

  • Hey just a bit of an update. Because the fucker put his foot out, the police have decided they want to talk to me in person and are coming round tomorrow. It'll be a fucken good idea, Scoober, to get that footage.
Addison Lee want a meeting, and hopefully I might get some form of success, money or free taxis :)
    unlikely of course.
Thanks for your help, if anyone does know who that fixed rider could be, let me know
    thanks
    Nik

not the first time one of their drivers has done something like this to me, last week one of em chased me down pitfield st, tried to ram me, just for not moving over just before a roundabout. security at my halls sorted that one out though.

  • Make em pay ttf, it's bad enough having to avoid unintentional accidents let alone having a psycho from the most miserable official couriers in the world take you out! wtf!

  • police won't do anything.

  • i saw a crushed addison lee motorbike at the goswell road/clerkenfixed junction a couple days ago, it was completly demolished, i dunno where the rider was but one lane was taped off and there were loads of police

  • what day was that?

    Apparently,that rider died there.

  • ^ yea i cycled past just after the ambulance/police got there, looked f**king nasty. no idea what happened tho

That's miserable man. Never figured that as a particularly dangerous junction.

An mate of mine lobbed one of those old AL bimmers years ago on Sheperds Bush roundabout, straight under the wheels of a tescos lorry. He was absolutely fine fortunately but the bike was a smear on the road. It was his 1st week with them and they were not amused.

  • well, I wasn't happy with the guy but wouldn't be wishing that on no one.
waiting to see what A L say now.

Get the CCTV footage now ! It will cost you (a fiver I think ?) - but if you are on the footage - which you are - then you are entitled to a copy under the Freedom of Information Act.

Footage of an Adission Lee courier attempting to kick a cyclist off his bike would be problematic for them when it appears on youtube and the link forwarded to all their major clients.

    good thinking.

Data Protection Act 1989 - you'll need to make reference to it to avoid having your request bounced. C&P from directgov:

                **How to request CCTV footage**

You have the right to access images of yourself that may have been recorded by a CCTV camera system. This is because the Data Protection Act of 1998 means that public bodies like local councils need to make any personal data available to you if you request it. Personal data is information that relates to an individual and is held by the public body.

You will need to make a request in writing to the owner of the CCTV system. The details of the owner are usually written on a sign attached to the camera. You will need to give them enough information to identify you, for example a specific date and time, and a description of yourself and your clothing. They may charge you a fee of up to £10 for a copy of the footage.
If you contact a public body that holds CCTV footage of you, they must give you a copy of those images within 40 days. They may send you an edited version of the CCTV footage to protect the identities of other people shown in the footage.

                        **Edited footage**

The CCTV recording may be edited to make sure that you can’t see any other personal data that doesn’t relate to you, like:

    • a vehicle registration number that is not yours
    • an unfair intrusion into the privacy of another person

Contact your local council for more information about how CCTV is used in your community, or see their CCTV code of practice for more about the use of CCTV cameras and the Data Protection Act.

    Good info Steff.

A couple of other points are that some systems are not archived in any way and if something happened three days ago you might find it has already been wiped (recorded over) when you speak to the owner of the camera (- act quickly -).

The second point is that when dealing with the police it has not been uncommon - historically - for footage that shines a poor light on the situation for the police to go "missing".

Basically it's recommend that if you want to collect footage you should do so as soon as you can, absolutely nothing else out there will support your case better.
