while we're on the subject, it seems that the rapha february sale prices have now become the standard prices for those items. 'sale' my arse, pricks.
-

Which are all items which are about to be out of season. Rapha do exaclty that twice a year and you can usually get yourself some good kit for a better price.
I don't see why it makes them pricks, it's normal retail practice.

i know it's more than a little bit ott, but i really really want the rapha/timothy everest bespoke tweed suit. i could pull it off, right? i've started saving my pennies... £3000.

ooohmygod. that looks amazing.
actually, not sure about the action-back, seems to bunch up a bit much across the shoudler. nah, teddy, don't worry about it. its rubbish .... -

Umm... all very fancy and rapha, but you could get a Saville Row suit for less. But yes, you could pull it off.
-
• #1771
I think we all would like to have that! I doubt those Saville Row suit are actually comfortable enough for cycling thought.
-
• #1772
Thats incorrect Ed.
A good Saville Row (Sabiro in Japanese funnily enough) tailor will make a suit for your requirements, and not just for boardrooms or balls.
photoben is right, and with the recession meaning that normal customers are holding off on buying new suits, bargains are to be had.
A bespoke suit can easily be speccd for hunched over riding positions, and in different weights, for winter and summer riding.

Cheers G, that was my point. But more equlently put. My best mate is mad on all that formal dress stuff, and has had two bespoke shirts made on the row, for about £200 each.
For christmas I got a pair of Gieves & Hawkes socks from him, they are quality.

always-got-a-reason-why-he-cant-do-a-forum-ride-photoben is right, for alot less you can get something truely custom made by a decent tailor and even improve on this design,,,, pic a medium weight tweed that goes with your frame, a colour lining that matches your lug lining, under collar felt that matches your saddle and sleeve lining that matches your bar tape. then get them to make two pairs of trousers-one plus four and the other full length and your larrfin as they say.
ask them for a quarter of a yard of the fabric and ask the bonk to make a hat...wicked.i bet you would still be a thousand pounds under the price of one of those.
arent these going to be made in very limited numbers? i am sure i heard/read that somewhere.
sorry if i missed something. -
