i actually like 'work wear' - brands designed for labour (although most of these are popular nowadays with the kidz, hence expensive)
e.g. carharrt, dickies (US), hard yakka (Oz) and my personal fav Dunderdon (Sweedish) - been riding in couple of pairs of their trousers for going on 10yrs now. [that said sure i should have replaced them a season or two ago]
