after extensive testing I've concluded that Eras are my favourite Vans. Same classic shape as Authentics but that extra padding/strength makes them more comfortable/harder-wearing. They're good for riding in too. Cue 'yeah right, sidis for the win' sarcy comment.
I would've said Old Skools but they don't seem to wear as well for some reason. I also like Sk8-His and especially Sk8-Mids but don't always want to wear them.
The only other trainers I've had any loyalty towards are Chuck Taylors, but switched to Vans as they fall apart if you just look at them funny. Plus, and I hate to admit this, but they're less appealing now that everyone wears them (although i can see this happening with vans). I'm afraid I fall into the annoying 'I've always worn them, long before they were fashionable again' camp.
One day I'll get some Nike Air Max. Always fancied them but they aren't really my thing somehow.
