transluscent paint over the top

It's harder than that though. Normal paint won't stick to chrome to my knowledge. Unless I guess you clearcoat it. Does anyone have any experience of doing something like this?

all keirin frames are chrome under the paint, well most anyways.

I'd say tinted lacquer, but it won't be easy to make it adhere while also keeping the chrome shiny. Under normal circumstances to paint over chrome I'd suggest an acid-etch primer, but that ain't an option with this...

If you have it acid etched then it should have something to 'key' to.
Its all about the prep. I you have it done at a good powder coaters/spray shop. They should have that type of thing.
Anyone have any ideas on what might be a stupid question:
Is it possible to colour a chrome fork so it looks like its red chromed rather than standard chrome. Some sort of lacquer or something??
Thanks!
