andyp, arsenal play better when they are more direct yes, but bendtner doesn't have the pace that Adebayor has, nor the touch, or at his best last season, the ability to score goals in bunches, both spectacular and run of the mill. Albeit Adebayor can be very disinterested, and is probably looking for a big money move elsewhere, so unless Wenger buys another tall front man, whose good in the air and can hold the ball up, when its knocked long to bring in the creatives behind him into play, then Bendtner would appear to be your best option.
I'm not critical of Spurs youngsters, I'd rather like Arsenal's young 'uns, they got to train with and appear in the first team, or at least shoulder the burden of the carling cup, rather than getting shipped out on loan to championship sides ala Dos Santos, or Taarbt, in preparation for being sold on so 'Arry can buy in some player who he can sell on in a years time for more money..
Its all very well having the moxie to mouth off about how you should be starting regularly in the first team, and your the best striker at the club - bendtner - but then when the chance comes to prove it you play the donkey.
Now he is young and probably will improve, but I don't see where his chances are gonna come from, as I'd put him a distant fourth striker behind Eduardo, Van Persie, Adebayor, and maybe even Vela.
