For Sale: MKS RX-1 Pedals - NJS Goodness

Hey all

I have a pair of awesome MKS RX-1's for sale. These were my track pedals before I switched to SPD-R's. Been sitting in my parts box for about a year.

Used for about 1 season on the track (so not much use really). Over all in great condition (see pics).

Hubjub have them listed @ £83 (plus postage) - OUCH!
Planet X have them on special @ £50 (plus postage)

Good price, mine were used and I paid £60 with clips and straps... Bit over the odds back then tbh..

how much better/different are they to the standard mks pedals? will I be noticeably cooler/faster/smoother?-if so ill buy em.

If you're talking about the Sylvans, they are worlds apart.

If you associate MKS with pedals like the Sylvan and GR-9, the RX-1 may come as something of a shock. It's a high-end quill, built for the Japanese track market. It looks vaguely like the fondly-remembered Suntour Sprint, but the machining is better, and the overall weight is less. We chose it among four or five NJS-certified models because it uses sealed bearings, which makes it a better bet for long-term street use. It goes without saying that it would be a good choice for the track also. Single toestraps are recommended unless you know the secret of the Martian Dance.

they are much much much better. the build quality of sylvans is questionable. these are immaculate.

I might have a 2nd pair in the wings... my Brother was riding a pair, I think they are on his shelf in his garage... purchased the same time as mine and use for the same amount of time.

To put it in perspective on how good the RX-1 is, kick the pedal and you'll see it spin constantly for age, extremely smooth.

Just chatted to my brother.

He'll part with is for £65. Comes with light alloy MKS NJS clips (large) and black MKS alpha leather double staps.

Will only get them from him next week.

The Martian Dance refers to not being able to get into the pesky fuckers with double straps... Took me fucking ages to get used to them, ask Corny... ;]
