Its just a normal shimano un54 or something like that, that you need. It should be 68-103.

OK... so I guess the next question is if I want to soup things up a bit without going crazy, what are people using... £40-ish? I'd be looking for solid and workmanlike rather than ultra-pimp... and sealed rather than serviceable. Sorry this is a bit of a numpty question, this is the first time I've had to change the BB on this bike...

Your riding a entry level otp bike just stick another UN54 in there, they are cheap thefore pretty much disposable just run it til it's fucked. Mines been running for 2 years no problems.
There is better ways of spending money to improve your flyer that you'll instantly notice.

The bb is actually a cheapy rpm, mine was knackered in about 6 months! good bet to replace it with a UN54 though, has lasted well this winter - in my experience there ain't nothing you can do to pimp a skyline, although it's a proper good workhorse for day-to-day use.
Remember talking to the Genesis rep not so long ago, he said a longer bb was chosen (over the standard 103 sugino) to take into account the wider clearances needed for mudguards the Skyline. I think its either a 110 or 113, somthing like that.
Does anyone know what type of BB the Genesis Skyine (or Flyer - I guess it's going to be the same) takes? I haven't got the tool to open it up myself :-(
