  • Which browser do you use, or recommend? They're lots out there, and though IE is still default for many, Mozilla Firefox is more secure, Apple Safari is prettier and more intuitive, Mozilla SeaMonkey comes with a built in HTML editor, Google Chrome is the fastest in tests, but Opera is fast also. So, what rocks you?

  • firefox :)

  • Firefox and just started playing with Opera.

  • camino.

  • firefux for browsing
    thunderbird for email
    open office for work
    ftp commander/cyber duck for ftp

    all free, all good.

  • Firefox is too slow and bloated. I use Chrome - it does everything I liked firefox for, but leaves off all the crap. It is also much much faster - particularly on javascript-intensive things.

    Except it doesn't have extensions.

And I am far too accustomed to not seeing adverts on the internet.

And I'm not sure I can do Gmail without the Better Gmail 2 extension that gives me Folders4Gmail, favicon updates, etc.

And that's before the userscripts.org customisations.

Oh... and if you're bleeding edge, the latest version of Firefox compiles the JavaScript too, so speed is relatively similar.

  • I'm settled on firefox for the moment but if I wasn't I'd download a few and just use different ones every now and again to see which ones I prefer..

I think unless you are into the technical stuff like Velocio it's more about what you're used to

  • firefox

  • Firefox rules...

  • joe rules

  • Firefox for the most part, little bit of Chrome and IE when I have to.

  • firefox is the most practical, and user friendly,
IE only for specific things and ie-only sites.

quite like safari too, but not as good as firefox still

  • Hey is that Blackberry me? I use it in the crapper!

  • Hey is that Blackberry me? I use it in the crapper!

    I've no idea.

The stats I get are the result of aggregation and there is no way to identify the people behind the numbers.

  • Firefox for me.

  • Firefox.

  • I'd assume most of the IE stats are made up of those who have to use the fucking thing at work.

  • Pifko- spot on, IE at work because I have too, firefox at home and iPhone safari inbetween.

  • Safari. Firefox is too slow. Quite like Chrome, too, which uses the same rendering engine.

If I am on a shitty locked-down Windows machine with no modern version of Firefox installed, I just use Portable Firefox or Portable Chrome. They were meant to be carried around and run from USB sticks but they unzip on your desktop perfectly. This is something that people who can't install software on their work machines could try.

  • i use IE at work (system is locked down, can't install apps), firefox at home, and opera mini when mobile.

does iphone safari just get included as safari? if not, interesting that more people use the access netfront mobile browser or blackberry browser than iphone safari (netfront is the embedded browser in a fuckton of sony-ericsson and samsung phones).

  • I use IE when I want to create a quickly accessible internet shortcut.

Firefox for just about everything esle. Though, when I used a computer with less RAM, it was slow.

The new Safari is beautiful, and is becoming a bit of a favorite on my laptop/PC.

Flock is too obtrusive, and misses the point.

I only use Google Chrome to browse, because any image/video uploads done with Chrome, belong (in part/) to Google!

Opera is nice, but needs to innovate more and be a bit more individualistic. Opera Mobile is a winner.

SeaMonkey is really nice. Boring to look at, but good for what it can do.

I used Cooliris to view the TweedRun pics. Brilliant.

  • I don't understand any of this. Am I missing out?
