For Sale: 'COY' T-Shirts. A New Beginning...

As a few of you already know, I used to work for Tonite and we made some awesome t-shirts. At the end of last year, the recession took hold and our backer pulled out leaving us high and dry.
Since then I've been doing some freelance design but unfortunately not enough.

With recession comes the birth of new things.
It's a time to make changes and be creative.
Good things happen.

So here's my new label.
Something I've been planning for a long long time.

Welcome to COY.

A project inspired by White Magic. Symbols and Meanings. Luck, Superstition, and Chance. Dreams, Wonders, and our journeys through Life.

The label is eco friendly and ethical.
The 1st run of tees are 210gsm pre-shrunk 100 % ring-spun cotton.
The print is PVC free waterbased ink and has been done at the only soil association awarded printers in the world. As used by Katherine Hamnett.

The neck label is made from deadstock vintage ribbon.
I have cut, folded and sewn one into each shirt.
When it runs out a new neck label will have to be sourced.
Found metal feather charms have been sewn onto the outside back neck.
On the chest is a 'wishbone' which I have personally embroidered with care.

"Civilizations dating back to the 4th Century (Etruscans, Romans... Britain, America) have held turkey or chicken wishbone contests. Pulling the dry turkey or chicken bone until it snapped ("lucky break"), they believed the winner's wish or dream would come true. In today's increasingly superstitious culture, many believe that this symbol will "catch" their dreams, bring good luck, and make their wishes come true. As in contemporary witchcraft or magic, the object becomes a channel of "good" energy."

These are not cheap shit t-shirts that you throw away after a few wears.
They are made to last.
I have put some serious time and effort into each one.

do u have any of the ladies ones about by any chance, with the repeat embroidery feather around the neck? (by the way i am sara from carharrts mate- i fell in love with it when i saw it in the showroom)...cheers...Georgie

Hi Georgie! Been a while...

I'm holding back on those embroidered feather ones for a while in the hope or arranging an exhibition somewhere. I want to make a collection of one-offs with some screen printed posters in there too. When I have a website up I may sell them as part of the 'special selection'. I'll let you know.
