freewheel cog-screw on, lock ring-screw on, bash lock ring with screwdriver and hammer to tighten. Cycle up a hill to tighten cog, re-tighten the lock ring. This is the cheap and incorrect way to do it. But it works

sick one, cheers

I would have thought you will receive better structured advice. But thats what i did. Shops charge a tenner. But i'm sure there's a kind sole who would do it proper with the correct tools, for a tin of beer

Check the freewheel will fit your hubs, I think bmx hub size/thread are different than regular hubs..although I also know jack shit in this area
-
• #6
ah shit yeah thats a good point, anyone know?

the internal diameter will be either 30mm or 32mm, pretty much 100% of 18t will be 32mm. 15t upwards is normally 32mm, 14t downwards is normally 30mm.
30mm is BMX STANDARD
32mm is SINGLESPEED STANDARD.the dicta in the pic is probably 32mm.

sounds promisssing, i guess itl say somewhere on the packaging? ill have to ahve a look
-

ive had one of those before, its 32mm dont worry. worry about the case suddenly exploding and the bearings falling out all over the road on a hillstart.

i've said it before and i'll say it again, riding fixed does not make your cock bigger. ok it feels good sometimes, it feeel fecking amazing and dreamlike (oh, pan!), but sometimes it's shit, like going down a steep slippery hill when you're carrying fuckloads of stuff. why make things difficult? woody my advice would be to ride what the fuck you want and not need the lack of gears to make you feel like a "man"...it's not, as you say, about the size of your balls, it's about the size of your brain (to be able to make a wise decision about the best machine for the job) and the size of your self esteem methinks.
I'm bored of this macho gearless brakeless bullshit..bikes are great ride what you want...lose the ego. Play nice x x x

.How very dare you!
I want to mount a freewheel on the other side of my hub for when i go back down to hilly-hilly Brighton at easter, and cos i am too pussy to ride it fixed, but dont know nothing about freewheels...
http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/bmx-16-teeth-freewheel-17867786/ this is at decathlon, 18t like what i ahve at the moment, so no need to change chain length, and very cheap.. whats the downside? is it simply screw on?
