    "have taken it to a bike shop to check if the wheel is still rideable", I'd be interested to know which bike shop & what exactly they had to say. I'd be riddled with guilt if i sold a defective product to someone and they suffered harm because of my small monetary gain.

    ^^^ Thats not a small chip.

    Sadly some poor chump will pay for this, but if raleigh felt it safe surly he would have kepted the wheel instead of hawking it on to fund buying a new one.

    i asked the seller if he and the shop would accept liability if harm came to anybody using this wheel and he/she said

    hi, i do not accept liability nor does the cycle shop. i am not an expert on damages so i do not have any opinions on the damage. all i have stated on the listing is the opinion of one of the mechanics at the bike shop. i suggest that if this was to be used in a commercial venture you should buy a non-dmaged one. i would say buyer assumes responsibility of item.
