a good thing to do if you dont have a printer, is get your googlemap as big as possible with your start and finish point visible, press print screen, and paste it into an image editing program, save then copy it onto your phone, so you have a digital map that you can zoom in on. also copy close-ups of your start point and destination so you can see the surrounding roads in even clearer detail

or just get google maps on your phone.

London is easy to find your way around, dont worry about it.
i find Birmingham much more confusing!
