    I think you should keep it as a big massive ride with a few recognised catch-up-points though.
    I believe if someone can't be bothered to check out the posted route before hand and do a modicum of homework, well..

    Going into spring there should (hopefully) be less instances of punctures and the nights will be (again hopefully) warmer which makes it nice to stand around a while and wait up for people, have a beer and conversation.

    The Bridges ride is a relatively safe ride to be on if something goes really wrong. There are always buses and taxis or even the tube that will accept a disassembled bike. It is not like Dunwich for example.

    Staggering will just lead to a big mess on the thread and on the night.
    If people must blitz off then let them.
    Last time a large group shot off the front they missed both Southwark and the Millennium Bridges (from London Bridge to Blackfriars) only to be seen again at Westminster.

    I think that the pace should be moderate with a few sprints for fun up the bridge approaches, maybe we can fit in a mini-TT along the way..
